Optical solutions for vision

Optics and glasses

progressive lenses

Progressive lenses are made accordingly to the needs of the customer and they provide a comfortable and clear vision from close and further distance.

the benefits for the wearer:

  • comfortable and natural vision both from a close and a further distance
  • maximum visual comfort due to wider viewing areas shaped to fit the wearer’s individual profile.
  • immediate adaptation thanks to the personalised bilance of all the areas of vision.
  • personalised design guaranteed to every wearer.
  • thinner and lighter lenses to vouch for an aesthetically pleasing product.

Zeiss lenses owing to the revolutionary EyeFit Technology,  are able to adapt themselves to a close profile vision for each individual wearer, thanks to its 3 profiles:

  • balanced, the balanced design that with the frequent use of all the areas of vision, answers for any dynamic needs.
  • Intermediate, optimal solution to frequent changes in areas of vision mostly regarding from afar and intermediate (60-90 cm). for example driving, doing sports.
  • Near, the appropriate solution to those who have a near vision use (30-60 cm) to  conduct predominantly  seated activities

office progressive lenses

Reading glasses are ideal for very close distances, however for those who predominantly do computer work or read paper work, it  becomes necessary to get closer to the monitor.

Consequently it becomes easier to give in to a wrong posture that would cause muscle tension in the neck and the back.

That’s why there were created office progressive lenses.

Thanks to the technology developed by Carl Zeiss Vision to determine the maximum intermediate distance (M.I.D.), the new ZEISS office lenses are created according to the wearer’s  maximum viewing distance in the workplace, in order to get a wide visual range ( from closer distances to intermediate ones between 0,5 and 2 metres) ensuring a right posture: head and neck will stay in a more natural position all day.

The range goes from glasses with a fair quality/price ratio to personalised solutions to satisfy demanding requests. Eyeglass lenses are created according to the maximum intermediate distance of the wearer during work hours. The so-called “M.I.D. value” points out the distance in a room that the wearer needs in order to see clearly and sharply.

i.Scription® lenses

Like digital prints each eye is unique. Carl Zeiss Vision brought an high precision analysis tool on the market, the one of a kind i.Profiler®, which  defines the eye’s optical map and enables it to keep in mind the analysis results in order to create the lens and to define its corrective powers. The implement operates on the basis of the so-called wavefront technology. Apart from traditional ways of analysis, usually employed by the ophthalmologist, which are absolutely valid but however focused on the measurement of the visual ability solely in daylight or high contrast conditions, instead this other system also considers visual performances during changes of light conditions, light reflections, colours and change of contrast. There isn’t a more precise or a more complete analysis.

These lenses are called lenses i.Scription®. This technology is available only in Zeiss lenses, both monofocal or progressive.

The eye performance can be analysed to one hundred of a diopter. This leads to a better visual acuity,  up to 25 times higher than a traditional one. Even visual deficits that until now were unresolvable, now are part of the personalised lens calculations. It results in a clearer vision with sharper contrasts and brighter colours.

Many people who wear glasses experience more visual difficulties in low light and during the night. Subjective refraction tests however need to be run, their utility remains valid. The new Carl Zeiss Vision objective measurement system  is to be used as an addition to the traditional way of analysis. In this way potential errors or limits that the precedent determination of visual acuity system had, now can be avoided: for example tired eyes, and impaired vision caused by lowlight.

I.Profiler® analyses each eye, also causing dilation of the pupils, a condition that occurs during the night. Furthermore, it is the first system that reveals the so-called high order aberration. The aberrations lead the rays of light to be reflected more intensively on the outer edges of the lens relative to the centre, this results in a reduced perception of contrasts. Another aberration is given by asymmetry which appears when rays of light are reflected so that the subject may see something that on the edges looks like an animal tail. Both phenomena are accountable for a bad vision during the night or at dusk.

The clients that already wear i.Scription® lenses immediately appreciated the benefits, night vision drastically improved helping those who drive feel safer.the colours are seen more intensively, all images are clearer and the contrasts are amazing
